Privacy notice

This is an English translation of our Aviso de privacidad. If there is any difference, the Spanish version prevails.

Who is responsible

“Yáakún · Cocina de Origen” (“Yáakún”), located at Av. Juárez y Allende N° 148, Col. Centro, ZIP 77400, Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico, is responsible for processing the personal data you provide to us, under Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties. For any matter related to your data, message us on WhatsApp 999 230 3901.

What data we process

Only the data you choose to send us when requesting a reservation by WhatsApp or phone:

• Your name and contact phone number.
• Date, time and number of guests for the reservation.
• If you tell us, the occasion you are celebrating and your comments.
• Sensitive data: if you tell us, allergies or dietary restrictions, which may reveal information about your health. Providing them is optional and we use them only to prepare your food safely.

We do not request financial or payment information through this website.

What we use it for

Purposes necessary for our relationship with you:

• Receiving, confirming or rescheduling your reservation and contacting you about it.
• Preparing your table and, if applicable, the celebration you tell us about.
• Taking your allergies or dietary needs into account when preparing and serving your food.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing or profiling, and we have no secondary purposes. If we ever wanted to use it for another purpose, we would ask for your consent first.

Consent

By ticking the box on the reservation form and sending your message, you give us your express consent to process your data, including any sensitive data you choose to share, for the purposes described above. If you contact us by phone or WhatsApp without using the form, this notice applies equally to the data you share with us.

How we receive it and where it is kept

The form on this website does not send your name, phone number, allergies or comments to any server: it only prepares the message on your device and opens WhatsApp so that you can send it. We receive that data only when you send the message, and it stays in the restaurant’s WhatsApp conversation. WhatsApp (Meta) processes information under its own privacy notice and terms.

To keep track of the reservations that come through this website, each message includes a code (for example, YK-4XK9P) and we keep a record with no personal data: the code, the requested date, time and number of guests, the page language and the button you used. The restaurant later notes whether the booking showed up. This record is kept for up to 24 months for internal control and is not used for advertising.

We keep your data only for as long as needed to handle your reservation and visit, and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Transfers

We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties. We would only disclose it to a competent authority when required by law.

Your rights (ARCO) and withdrawing consent

You may access, rectify or cancel your data, or object to its processing (ARCO rights), and you may withdraw your consent or limit its use, by messaging us on WhatsApp 999 230 3901 with:

• Your name and a way to reply to you.
• A document proving your identity or, where applicable, that of your representative.
• A clear description of the data and the right you wish to exercise.

We will reply through the same channel within the time limits set by law. If you believe your right to data protection has been violated, you may contact the competent authority (currently, Mexico’s Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno).

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use cookies, advertising or third-party trackers. Fonts are served from the site itself. It only stores a technical flag in your browser for the session so the opening animation is not repeated (it is deleted when you close the tab and does not identify you).

To know how many people visit the website we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or identify you: it only counts visits in aggregate (pages viewed, country, device type and which site you came from).

The satellite map in the Visit us section is provided by Google Maps and only loads if you tap “Show map”; from then on Google may use cookies under its own policy. Links to Google Maps, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook take you to third-party services with their own privacy policies.

Minors

Reservations must be requested by adults.

Any change to this notice will be published on this page, with its update date.
